Wins for Chess Profi, Sharp Kids and Ajedrez Armagedón

May 19, 2021: Chess Profi (St. Petersburg, Russia) achieved their third consecutive win in the top U12 League. Moksleivių šachmatų klubas (Lithuania) were their closest opponents, while Latvia Junior Chess came third.

Минский ветер (Minsk, Belarus) team is the winner of Center B, and will be joining the elite ranks, together with returning teams of Ученики И.Погорелова and Strateg Stuttgart.

Center C and Center D groups had many smaller teams, fighting for upper ranks, and a good number of them will be promoted because several teams announced taking a break from the League.

Center U8 Strateg Stuttgart achieved their first win in U8 competition, followed by Moksleivių šachmatų klubas and Latvia Junior Chess.


Division East: After several editions of relaxed play, Sharp Kids Diamonds (Philippines) came back with a full-strength team and won outright. Champions Chess Academy (India) came second and Penang Chess Association (Malaysia) third.


Division West: A fresh new podium, with a win for Ajedrez Armagedón (Peru). CIC Student Team (Canada) took second place, and Fox Valley Chess Club (USA) came third.


A total of 748 players participated in this edition of U12 and U8 League. Next League is scheduled for June 2nd.

And we prepared a special treat for the next week: 1st Worldwide U12 Blitz Team Battle. The intention is to have a more relaxed and faster time control tournament, to maximize the fun element of playing chess. The first edition will be played on May 26th.
